Due to the new Government of Alberta Day Camp Guidelines for COVID-19, we have put new procedures in place to protect the health and safety of all staff, children and families participating in summer camp.

One of the new procedures will be a daily symptom screening questionnaire. Any child or household family members of the child who is exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19 will not be permitted to attend the camp.

If a child should develop symptoms while at camp, they will be immediately removed from camp and isolated with a caregiver. At this point, parents or guardians of the symptomatic child, as well as the other children in the camp, will be notified and asked to pick-up their child(ren) immediately. The camp will close for a minimum of 72 hours.

Further information on the new health and safety procedures we will be implanting for this summer's day camps will be included in the Parent Handbook and listed on our website in the coming weeks.

Due to this year's circumstances, there are many changes to our registration process. We are accepting weekly registrations only, and you will need to give your preference for which weeks you would like your child to attend, in order for us to accomodate as many families as safely as we can this summer.

Registration opens Monday June 15. We appreciate your patience during these changing times.

What we offer:

Camp WaNaGo is the Summer Day Camp Program offered by the Central Peace FCSS.  This is its eleventh year running, and it is both an affordable and valuable opportunity for children aged 5 to 11 to learn new things and have a lot of fun with other children their age!

Three Reason Why You Might Consider Sending Your Child to Camp WaNaGo:

  1. When children go to a day camp, they have an opportunity to decide what activities to participate in, and they have a chance at some independence.  They learn skills to become self-reliant and as a result, develop more confidence.

  2. While day camp can be like school – it runs without the threat of failure.  Kids are just there to have fun; they always achieve success at camp!

  3. Participating in day camps can enhance and develop social skills.  This can be one of the greatest benefits of the camp experiences as children usually shed their concerns of not being accepted because of what they wear, how they look or what they’re good at.  Everyone has a place at day camp.
