Community Kitchen
MLA Marg McCuaig-Boyd joined us January 2019
What we offer:
Community Kitchen is an award-winning project started in 2013 to offer our seniors in the area a chance to meet twice a month to cook, bake, share recipes and best of all to make and renew friendships. In 2014, using the seniors as mentors we invited young moms and youth from local schools to come and learn how to cook for a family on a budget.
Over the years, we have used favorite and new recipes to make soups, pasta, chicken pot pies, lasagna, chilli in a bun, cabbage rolls, buns, desserts and much more. More recently there have been casseroles and soups made to supply the food bank and the freezer at FCSS for seniors to take home for a nominal fee.
This program is ran in both Rycroft Community and Spirit River Centennial Hall. The Village of Rycroft and the Town of Spirit River have graciously donated this space so we can continue to operate this program.
Updates on dates and locations will be online and posted in The Central Peace Signal Newspaper.
